SERVICES
Design
We have an in house team of structural engineers with over 60 years experience in the design of steel framed buildings, who will be dedicated to your project from start to finish. We use CADSA3DMax analysis and CADS member, composite, portal and connection design software, together with Tekla Connection Designer including portal member connections to assist the design of your project to either BS5950 or EC3.

The design department works closely with our in-house drawing office to produce a 3D model which is thoroughly checked by our engineers to ensure there is no loss of data between departments.

The design department can assist in the tendering of design and build projects as well carrying out full contract design. Our engineers are always willing to assist in developing your project and look to offer value engineered solutions where possible to the benefit of our clients.
Drawing Office
We have an in-house drawing office team of experienced draughtsmen who will be dedicated to your project, all overseen by the Drawing Office Manager and our Structural Engineers.
3D modelling and detailing is carried out using Autodesk Advance Steel which has been optimised by Autodesk in partnership with Graitec to work seamlessly with the latest versions of Revit. This enables direct input of Engineers & Architects 3D models or DWG drawings and forms part of Autodesk's BIM synchronization workflow. Models can then be easily exported to IFC, Revit, Navisworks and DWG native format for viewing & checking.
We are annually audited by the BCSA for compliance with BIM Level 2 by demonstrating that we comply with the most current ISO 19650 documents.
Our software also outputs NC data for direct input to our CNC machinery for a greater level of accuracy with drilling and fabricating.
Fabrication
Fabrication is carried out at either our Norwich or Rackheath workshops. The full range of Advance sections can be processed in S275 or S355 material using our CNC drilling machinery. Welding is carried out by our team of plater / welders qualified to BS EN ISO 9606-1. Visual weld inspection is carried out in house with independent NDT inspectors called in on a regular basis all in line with our Factory Production Control system which forms part of the UKCA Marking process. Steelwork fabrication is carried out in accordance with the National Structural Steelwork Specification – 7th Edition and our manufacturing process is UKCA marked to EN1090-1 Execution Class 2 and BS EN ISO 3834
Shot Blasting & Painting
Shot blasting and painting is carried out in our specialist facility at Aylsham in Norfolk. Blasting is carried out after fabrication and painting carried out within 4 hours of blasting. We generally use either single pack or 2 pack Sherwin Williams primer paint systems for our own projects although other options are available.
We have capacity to carry out additional blasting and painting and if you wish to make use of our facilities please contact the main office or the paint shop direct using the details on the contact page of this website.
